A Magical Place created August 2008, Photos of the girls taken August 16th, 2008. This was Aubrey’s Forever Family Day (Celebrating Aubrey having become part of family for 4 years now!). It was also the day daddy arrived home from a 2 week Missions Trip in India. He brought the girls these gorgeous pink dresses and wooden flutes! They loved them, and all I could invision were the scrapping possibilities with the girls in these dressesss!

I took this photo of the girls while we were staying in Orlando visiting Hollywood Studios. I love digital scrapbooking in this style when I have the perfect photo to use. This is what really separates digital scrapbooking from paper scrapping. However, I really love the true 3d look you get with paper scrapping, it’s just not me to work with scissors and paper.

This Layout was made for a Scraplift Challenge, I used two different FREE kits for this.  Sunny Beach from Krakatuka’s Magic Box .  If you look back through her blog she has a lot of lovely Freebies.  The other kit was Summer Vacation  by  Pimp Your Scrapbook.   All her kits are free on her Blog also!

Todd’s Short-Term India Trip

August 11, 2008

Here are some photos and video clips from Todd’s short-term (18 days) Mission’s Trip to India.
He is leading worship with the help of Jeremy Carlberg on acoustic guitar. He is also doing some mini Worship Conferences. There is also a puppet ministry he is overseeing. The video clip labeled “Johnson’s Interview” is of Todd joking around with one of their guides…and it is obvious he is joking right back…at least I hope so:)

2 Page Layout & Aubrey Hula Hooping!!!

August 11, 2008

This is another 2 Page Layout I just completed for Aubrey’s 2006 Album.  I used  Pam Lefor’s  add-on kit “A Little Flakey”  and  NewLife Dream’s   add-on kit for “The Magic of Christmas”. The 2 page LO size is 17″ X 11″  because the album was started as an 8.5″ X 11″ , so I must finish it that way.  Then I will go back to the traditional scrapbook square format.

Here is the video clip of Aubrey trying to Hula Hoop:

Very innovative, but not very efficient…a fish net for a paddle.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Aubrey’s Wedding Plans!!!

August 2, 2008

Isn’t this a bit early?  Several weeks ago Aubrey came home from preschool telling us all about her wedding plans…she is only 4 years old!

Since the filming of this video, unfortunately for Aubrey, Isaac broke the news to her while she was eating her lunch at preschool that he was not going to marry her, and he was going to marry her friend Abbey instead. Oh my!

Special thanks to Brittany & Chad!

A simple Blending Tutorial & an Award!

August 1, 2008

The following photo was used in one of my favorite LOs that I created about 3 months ago.

The photo I used, started out as “one of many” digital photos that I thought was “just another photo”, and would just end up being filed away on a disc.
Here is the original photo:

When I was viewing the photos on my digital camera…I happen to zoom in on the above photo… and what I saw on my small LCD screen after I zoomed in SCREAMED “Scrap This”
So I did:

I used one of my favorite techniques of Blending…

I selected and highly feathered the area I wanted, and then placed it on my LO.
Then I duplicated that layer, and converted the top layer to Back & White (Remove Color).
Then I slowly adjusted the translucency of the upper B&W layer to get the desired look.
I erased just a tad more on the lips with the eraser for a little more color.

LO Credits are as Follows:
*Paper by Manuela Zimmermann from her Endless Love kit at Studio Manu .
*Elements: Story Of Me & Arrow Doodle by Debi DeGagne from her “Life’s Journey” kit.
* Kanji photoshop brushes by Stephani Shimerdla at Obsidian Dawn

Todd W Donovans Website

July 26, 2008

I have been promising my wonderful husband that I would build him a website, well I finally did it. I used a lot of Pam Lefors and Irene Alexeeva’s Scrapbook Designs to build the images I used on his website.  I am very proud of his accomplishments and hope you take some time to listen and watch some of his video and audio clips I have posted on his website.  They range from Opera to Broadway.
